Amazing Coaches
Alexei Kokiyelov
Head Coach
Alexei is an International Ice Dance Coach and Choreographer with a proven track record in developing Ice Dancers from the ground up. He is renowned for his creative approach to integrating choreography and his ability to develop exquisite technical skills amongst his athletes. In 2003, he co-founded the WISA Skating Academy with Elena and together have produced National, International, and World Champions at all levels while creating life-long memories amongst his skaters. His success in developing World Class Ice Dancers stems from his competitive career as a Russian National Champion and International medalist, and his professional career as a principal performer for International Ice Show Productions.
Alexei continues to dedicate his professional career to developing the next generation of World Class Ice Dancers.
Elena Novak
Head Coach
Elena is a world renown Ice Dance Coach and Choreographer. Her devotion towards developing athletes and World Class Ice Dancers has contributed to the success her skaters have achieved. Since co-founding the WISA Skating Academy in 2003 with Alexei, they have produced more than 67 National Champions in every level of Ice Dance, and numerous International and World Champions. Her competitive and professional career as a principal performer for leading Ice Show Productions, has been pivotal in developing skaters and choreographing unparalleled performances.
Elena continues to share her passion and expertise and serves as the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Ion Dance Academy by Wisa.
Jimmie Manners
Ice Dance Coach
& Choreographer
Jimmie is a professional dancer with extensive training in hip hop, ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and African dance. As a dancer, he performed with Iconic artists such as Eve, Ciara, Pharrell, Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, and served as the principal performer in Jennifer Lopez’ Vegas residency, “All I Have”. After his professional career, he took on a new role as a choreographer and has been invited to teach around the world including New York, Israel, Italy, Paris, and Barcelona. Today, Jimmie brings with him his diverse and technical dance background to elevate the performances of Ion Figure Skaters.
Yullia Zhata
Ice Dance Coach
Yullia is an accomplished International Ice Dancer with an extensive competitive career in Freestyle and Ice Dance. She is National Champion of Belarus, Turkey, and Ukraine (Ice Dance and Freestyle), former member of the National Team of Ukraine, Belarus, and Turkey, and participant of the 2021 World Championship (Olympic qualifier). Coached by the world’s best ice dance and freestyle coaches during her competitive career, Yullia now shares her knowledge and passion with skaters of all ages and levels.
